Overview

Watchlist includes 1 tool for this workflow area.

Available tools: manage_watchlist.

Use the parameter tables and examples below as the canonical request contract.

manage_watchlist

Keeps the persistent list of symbols this terminal's crew is watching, with why each is there, who owns it and when it is due for review. The list survives restarts and is per terminal. It only records intent; it never trades.

action="list": active entries ordered core, then probation, then candidate, and within a tier by symbol A-Z, each with symbol, tier, reason, owner, added_at, review_by, overdue (true once review_by has passed), notes and updated_at, plus counts per tier and the number overdue. Optional tier filter. action="add": needs symbol, tier, reason, owner. The symbol is checked against the broker and stored with the broker's own spelling (USDJPY becomes USDJPYm where the broker adds a suffix); the result shows requested_symbol when it differs. Several possible matches fail with INVALID_PARAMETER and current_state.candidates; an unknown symbol fails with NOT_FOUND; an already-watched one fails with DUPLICATE and current_state holding the existing entry. Needs the terminal connected. action="update": needs symbol, owner (who is changing it), reason, and at least one of tier, review_by (null clears) or notes. Symbol may omit the broker suffix. Changes only those fields. action="remove": needs symbol, reason, owner. Soft removal: the entry leaves the list, its history stays, and it can be added again. It does not remove the symbol from Market Watch. action="history": every change newest first (action add/update/remove, before and after for the changed fields, reason, owner, at in UTC), optionally for one symbol (a removed symbol needs the broker's exact spelling), limit 1-200, default 50.

review_by is an ISO time or a date (a date means the end of that day, UTC) and must be in the future. notes and reason are at most 500 characters. At most 500 active symbols per terminal. sync_market_watch=true on add/update also selects the symbol in the terminal's Market Watch so quotes and bars work; it needs the terminal connected and an EA that supports it (otherwise ea_upgrade_required), and fails without changing the list if the terminal cannot select it. With an older EA symbols are checked against Market Watch only and the result says validation="market_watch_only". dry_run=true (default false) validates and shows what would be written without writing or selecting anything. Requires the read capability.

This tool can affect a live trading account. dry_run defaults to true — pass dry_run: false explicitly to execute for real.
